Just to be with you!
True Love: is the desire to be with someone no matter the cost.
It is amazing to know WHAT THE COST was for God to be with us. “While we were yst sinners Christ died for us"…Just to be with you.
Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
These words where spoken to Jeremiah, but still are timeless and apply to all mankind today…
LET’S PRAY (God wants to be with us because He LOVES us but do we Love HIM?)
BAD NEWS: LIFE WITHOUT LOVE IS EMPTY
When Jeremiah said: “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me”, He meant that The LORD’s GRACE was not appearing to the Israelites. Do you suppose God abandoned the people of Israel or did the people of Israel abandoned the Lord? That principal is still in affect today: If we choose to leave God out of our lives He will be distant. That is not a difficult principal to understand. .…
A life without LOVE is empty and at times will seem HOPELESS. A great sense of worthlessness is at bay. As if it’s lurking in the next room BAD NEWS IS: we are imperfect and Hopeless if left to our own device…Israel’s love toward the Lord was imperfect and empty. Their religion became built upon rituals and rules. They desired a church built upon things that they controlled and separated themselves from their True God through the intellectual belief and acts of attrition. They were no longer motivated to SEEK GOD….
LOVING-KINDNESS HAVE I DRAWN THEE…WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
In spite of ourselves: he assured us that His love is forever. An undying LOVE with LOVING-KINDNESS.
So this morning lets breakdown the last part of this verse: “LOVING-KINDNESS HAVE I DRAWN THEE” into real life applications
1st Example MERCY demonstrates His Loving Kindness and will draw us close to Him
John 8:7-11 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Jesus’ demonstrates His LOVING-KINDNESS with MERCY, He demonstrated Mercy by forgiving her of her sins of which she was clearly guilty of adultery. But her accusers were just as guilty and full of sin.
Are you full of sin and need to be forgiven? Just Believe in Jesus and that He is able to forgive you! He Just wants to be with you …He wants to Draw you close to him by forgiving your sins just by asking Him to do so…Just Let Go and submit to Him.
2nd Example Did you know STRIFE in our lives draws us close to Him?
Matthew 14:22-31 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Jesus’ disciples were full of STRIFE and His Loving-Kindness he went out to meet them in their distress to help them. Just to be with them.
Are you full of STRIFE this morning? Be of Good Cheer - Be Not Afraid just Come to Him and through His Loving Kindness he will lift you out of your mire, he will cross that lake of misery just to be with you
3rd Example Did you know our Faith in Him draws us close to Him
God is Love and He measures our FAITH through our LOVE? When we operate in Love it is Him that is operating, the Perfect One is now in affect and our imperfections become more perfect through the Power of His Spirit when applied
Galatians 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
For in Jesus Christ. In the religion which Christ came to establish.
Neither circumcision, etc. It makes no difference whether a man is circumcised or not. He is not saved because he is circumcised, nor is he condemned because he is not. The design of Christianity is to abolish these rites and ceremonies, and to introduce a way of salvation that shall be applicable to all mankind alike. Cmt. on
But faith which worketh by love. Faith that reveals its existence by love to God, and benevolence to men. It is not a mere intellectual belief; but it is that which reaches the heart, and controls the affections. It is not a dead faith; but it is that which is ALIVE, and which is seen in Christian kindness and affection. It is not mere belief of the truth, or mere rituals or routine; but it is that which produces true attachment to others.
Just holding an intellectual relationship with God’s TRUTH may leave the heart cold and unreachable toward others; or produce a more ritual nature of worship. Love is an Action and if left to words only no matter how bold, and self-confident, it may produce:
playing of words
The true faith is that which is seen in love to God 1st , and benevolence, love to all who bear the Christian name; in a readiness to do good to all mankind.
"faith, which by love is mighty in operation."
The last story I have of Jesus Desire to be with us, please turn to 1 Timothy 1:9-15
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
GOOD NEWS: GOD IS PERFECT !!! Through His Love we can have an Everlasting Love. WE are drawn to Him and if we seek Him he will love us as no other. Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
We have to recognize that God’s Love is for all and that he sent His son to establish this right relationship with mankind. Teaching them a proper way to please God through His church.
Our desire in life is to be wanted and loved. Feeling desired physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, which are all essential for a healthy being. God is here this morning to fill every need of ours and to Love us unconditionally. No matter what you’ve done in your past God is able to forgive your sin, Just to be with you…..Just to be with you.
