Christ is King! Is he Yours?

A Tribute to Christ Jesus – My King and Lord of my life…

Through Study of Matthew:

Why is the Genealogy of Christ of importance that Matthew placed it up front?

 Let’s Pray

Is Christ King, yes or no?

The theme of Matthew as many of you may already know is:

Christ is KING…

Jesus’ Authority:

Matt 7:29

29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. (KJV)

Matt 8:8-13

8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.(KJV)

Matt 8:26-28

26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! (KJV)

There should be no doubt about Jesus Authority as King, however. There in Jesus time many that doubted Jesus or simply didn’t want a King in their lives. Is that much different than today?

Do people want Jesus to be Lord of their Life?

Matt 8:28-29

28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? (KJV)

Even the Devils recognize Jesus Authority, so why don’t give due respect to Jesus as they should? Well their selfish heart is the subject and offence to Jesus. That they should do whatever they want as they please themselves…ruin other people’s lives seems to be their main focus, of course those that allow Satan into their lives.

Why is it that someone would not want a loving King in their Life?

Jesus’ Authority Rejected by his own Kin:

 Matt 21:5-10

5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? (KJV)

Matt 21:23-28

23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.

27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.(KJV)

Matt 22:41-23:1

41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.

43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

44 The Lord  said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?

45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. (KJV)

Jesus wants the world to know who he is but everyone will need to decide for themselves by allowing the spirit to unveil Jesus and His authority in your life…Choose..

Will you accept Jesus as your King?

Matt 27:11-12

11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. (KJV)

Will you accept Jesus as your King in spite of your Status and the person you believe you think you are? There is compelling evidence that Jesus is exactly who He said he is

Matt 27:50-55

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. (KJV)

Matthew painted the picture of this King that commands Heaven and Earth of whom He has all Power and Authority… Even as Jesus died the whole universe yelped for the Absence of Almighty God who was covered with our sins in so much that God couldn’t look at his only begotten Son, Jesus: which in translation from Hebrew to Greek and into our language means: Savior
